How to make Dark Chocolate Cake
To prepare this simple yet amazing cake recipe, take a large mixing bowl and mix together all purpose flour (maida), cocoa powder, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Keep this bowl aside until further required.
In another container, crack open the egg whites and beat using an electric beater for 3-5 minutes. Then, add powdered sugar in the bowl and beat once again for another 5 minutes. Finally, add vegetable oil, vanilla extract and egg yolks in the bowl and mix well.
With the help of a cake spatula, fold the dry mixture into the egg mixture gently and preheat the oven at 180 degree Celsius.
Now, line the baking tin with a parchment paper and transfer the cake mixture into it. Let it settle and bake for 20-25 minutes.
Then, prepare the sugar syrup on low flame by continuously stirring sugar in water. Once the cake is baked and cooled, cut into two layers and spread sugar syrup on both the layers.
After putting syrup, put a thick layer of whipped cream spread sliced canned cherries and chocolate chips. Do this for both the layers. Put melted dark chocolate in the whipped cream mix well and coat the final layer for about 10 minutes. Keep the cake in the fridge for setting. Then sprinkle some cocoa powder on top of the icing and decorate with flowers. Enjoy!
