How to make Jeera Cookies
Step 1 Roast cumin seeds
Preheat the oven to 180 C degrees. Spread cumin seeds on a baking tray lined with baking sheet. Roast them in the oven for 4 minutes or until it gets a nice aroma. Keep aside.
Step 2 Prepare the cookie dough
Mix butter and sugar in a bowl using a hand mixer. Then add flour, salt and 3/4 tbsp of cumin seeds to the butter and sugar and mix. Reserve the rest cumin seeds for later. Combine until the mixture looks smooth and form a dough. Add milk to make the dough smooth.
Step 3 Cut cookies
Sprinkle a little flour on a flat surface and flatten the dough using a rolling pin. Cut shapes for the cookies using cookie cutters and sprinkle the reserved cumin seeds.
Step 4 Bake cookies
Place the cookies in a baking tray and bake at 180 C degrees for 10 minutes. After that, take the baking tray out and reduce the temperature to 160 C degrees. Again, bake for 5-6 minutes or till they are golden brown from the sides. Place the cookies on a wire rack and let them cool down. Store the cookies in an airtight container.
