How to make White Chicken Pulao
To prepare this mouthwatering recipe, start by putting a deep-bottomed pan on medium flame and add water. Next, add peas to the water and boil them. While peas are boiling, cut the chicken into 9-10 pieces and set aside. Wash the coriander leaves and green chillies under running water and finely chop them in a medium bowl. Now, take the cinnamon stick, cardamom and cloves and put them in a grinder. Grind them into fine powder and keep aside until required. Also, wash the rice and soak it in water for about 20-30 minutes.
Now, take a deep-bottomed pan and add enough water. Add the chicken to the pan with milk, ginger paste, garlic paste, chopped coriander leaves and chillies, white pepper powder and powdered cinnamon, cardamom and cloves mix. Add salt according to taste and boil the mix till the chicken is almost cooked and the milk is brought down to half. Then melt the butter and add it to the chicken and mix.
While the chicken cooks, prepare the rice. Take a saucepan with 3.5 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Mix a dash of salt to the water and add the soaked rice into the pan. Stir the rice once to separate any clumps and close the pan with a tight lid. Turn the flame to the lowest setting and let it simmer for 15 minutes. After that, turn off the flame and leave it for 5 more minutes.
Now, spread half of the rice in a heavy-bottomed pan. Then add the chicken and milk mixture and a layer of rice again. Finish by pouring lemon juice over it and close the lid. Place the pan in a slow oven at 140 degree Celsius for 30 minutes or till it’s cooked.
When the dish is fully cooked, transfer the white chicken pulao to a serving dish and add the boiled green peas to it. Serve hot and enjoy the delicious meal with friends and family.
