Russian souvlaki with baked potatoes and sour cream dip

Souvlaki – Greek skewers on wooden skewers, which are prepared from young pork, chicken less often from turkey or fish. Cooked both over an open fire and in a pan. But I suggest a more useful cooking option for this dish is roasting. Greek dish, Russian execution;)

Russian souvlaki with baked potatoes and sour cream dip

  • chicken fillet – 2 pcs.
  • potatoes – 8-10 pcs.
  • olive oil
  • thyme
  • Red onion
  • salt pepper – to taste
  • thick sour cream – 250 g
  • dill – 1 bunch
  • skewers
  • mix salad “meklan” – 1 pack.
  • tomatoes – 1-2 pcs.
  • hard cheese – 50-80 g
  • garlic – 1-2 cloves

Step 1

1. Wash the chicken breast fillet, cut into small pieces. Wash the potatoes thoroughly, cut in half, then into quarters or slices

Step 2

Sprinkle chicken fillet with olive oil, salt, pepper, add thyme, red onion rings. Mix everything well with your hands and let stand for 15-20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180-200C

Step 3

Put the potatoes on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, salt, add thyme, mix everything well with your hands and evenly distribute in a form.

Step 4

String chicken fillet on skewers, put on top of potatoes. Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes.

Step 5

We make a sour cream dip: sour cream + chopped garlic + chopped dill + grated cheese – beat with a blender. Let it brew.

Step 6

Serve souvlaki with baked potatoes with salad, with sour cream dip. Very tasty and healthy.

Mistress note

Thyme can be replaced with oregano (oregano). And in the sour cream dip you can not add cheese, it will still be very tasty, with the aroma of dill and garlic!
