Usually, barley pre-soaked.
Put barley in a large container and completely cover with cold water.
The level should be above the grains a few inches.
Leave for 2-3 hours, but preferably overnight.
Then drain and rinse again grain.
Barley in a saucepan, cover with water by about 1 Cup of grits 3 cups of water and send it on a high heat, when it boils cover and pricesthe fire.
Cook until tender, about 40 minutes.
Then drain the water and all our barley is ready
